Heating Homes With Bitcoin
“If you're using electric heat where you live, then your computer's heat isn't a waste.” — Satoshi Nakamoto, 2010
The race to develop Bitcoin-powered home heating systems is hotting up, with several stylish devices now on offer. Bitcoin mining generates heat as a byproduct of computation. Rather than venting it outside, a new wave of startups is turning that heat into a feature, producing certified home heating devices that mine Bitcoin while warming your home.

Heatbit
Founded in 2020 by Alex Busarov, Heatbit offers portable heating and mining systems with award-winning design and a mobile app. The company has sold over 2,000 units in the US and plans to release a 39 TH/s model.
21energy
Established in Austria in 2022 by Maximilian Obwexer and Lukas Waldner, 21energy designs heater-miners resembling traditional radiators, with a focus on premium materials and safety. Their units are built to blend into a home rather than signal a server room.
Canaan
Canaan is a larger, established manufacturer emphasising affordability and mass distribution. Their Avalon Mini 3 is available on Amazon as a plug-and-play Bitcoin heating solution, with cryptocurrency payment options.
RY3T
Founded in Switzerland, RY3T provides a freestanding unit with liquid heat-exchange capability for integration with existing heating systems, including underfloor heating, radiators, and pools. Currently available for pre-order.
